Mary E. John will provide a historical perspective on the longstanding issue of the sex ratio imbalance in the Indian population. The lecture will also examine family-building practices in contemporary India, particularly in the context of gender. These are timely and vital conversations as they have undergone decadal transformations, and yet rarely been acknowledged in the public discourse.
