    The foundation reduced the age cut off for nominees for the Infosys Prize to 40 years and Economics was made a separate category. The new age cut off will provide a longer runway for young researchers and scholars. Dr. Pratima Murthy was inducted into the board of trustees of the foundation.

    The new office of Infosys Science Foundation is inaugurated in July. Science now has a new address, in Jayanagar, Bangalore.

    The PTTS Immersion Program goes virtual.

    ISF partners with The New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS) for the Nutrition Challenge. Each member of the winning team receive a scholarship of five hundred thousand Rupees (INR 5,00,000).The winners and runners up present their solutions at the prize ceremony in Bangalore. Both teams visit ISRO, Sriharikota to witness rocket launch. Each member from both teams gains entry into The Junior Academy of the New York Academy of Sciences in Fall 2019.

    ISF begins supporting the Physics Training and Talent Search (PTTS) program to help undergrad students discover the subject beyond the classroom.

    The foundation establishes Gnanadeepa Teacher's Training Workshop for middle school mathematics and science teachers.

    On the 5th anniversary, the Prize purse increased from INR 50 lakhs to INR 55 lakhs. Announces a study on research careers in India.

    Jury Chairs have their tenure extended to 5 years. Subra Suresh leaves to join the U.S. National Science Foundation as Director. Prof. Pradeep Khosla replaces him

    Infosys Science Foundation set up as trust. Six trustees. Corpus of INR 20 crore. Engineering & Computer Science, Physical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Life Sciences, Social Sciences are the categories. Government of India declares the prize purse tax exempt for winners in India. Jury Chairs for the categories include Prof. Amartya Sen, Prof. Inder Verma, Prof. Subra Suresh, Prof. Shrinivas Kulkarni, Prof. Srinivasa Varadhan.

    Infosys Prize is set up. Infosys and National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) award the first Infosys Mathematics Prize to Prof. Manindra Agarwal. Prize purse is increased from INR 10 lakhs to INR 50 lakhs before the ceremony.
