From diagnosis to the person: the future of mental health practice

The Centre for Brain and Mind (CBM) at NCBS is thrilled to announce a new collaboration with the Infosys Science Foundation in bringing to you, public talks, lectures, discussions and conversations — all about mental health across scales and geographies.

The CBM, funded by the Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies, is an inter-institutional program between the National Centre for Biological Sciences and the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore. Our goal is to understand the biology of severe mental illness with a view to develop better prevention strategies, diagnostics and therapeutics for these illnesses.

With our outreach initiative Baatein, we hope to spread awareness about the gravity of recognizing and addressing mental disorders and decoupling the stigma associated with these issues. Baatein is a space for open and inspirational conversations about mental health, backed by research and scientific evidence, aimed to ease societal understanding about mental well-being.
